I Love to Paint!

This week we painted for our activity for the July 4th weekend. I will always miss these family times together. I have so much fun doing things like painting with Taylor!

We actually did real paintings this weekend on real canvas! We will be able to put them on the wall in our rooms and display them proudly. Daddy got this idea from an artist who is also a blogger friend of his. Thanks Hollie for the great idea. We had so much fun!

New Haircut

I wanted to share with you something that has been on Carey and I's mind for quite some time now. Will's hair! We talked about it before, and I even put up a poll. You just look at these pics and tell me he's NOT the cutest thing EVER! I DARE YA!!

Oh and sorry for the quality of the pics, but every last one of them had to be shot as a reflection off of the mirror. Click on each pic for a better view!

A little hesitant at first.

Another ER Visit

Today we again took you to the hospital. Fortunately for us none of these visits have been for anything serious.

Today while playing, you snuck into the kitchen while I wasn't watching and got the kids vitamins off of the counter. I am still not sure how you were able to get to them, but I found you in your room watching Dora while munching on vitamins like they were candy. Actually, the way they taste they are candy.

It was a brand new bottle that contained 180 vitamins and you left only 12 in the bottle. Nice. I called poison control and they said that you would be fine. They told me not to worry and that the worst that would happen would be some diarrhea. Does it get any worse? Anyway so I called your pediatrician Dr. Karr and asked for a second opinion. They informed me (without knowing what exactly you ate) to go the hospitals emergency room immediately.

This put me back into panic mode as I scooped you up at around 2:20PM and rushed you to the hospital. Our great friend Lisa Rude was kind enough to pick up Taylor from the house and bring her to meet us.

Once arriving at the hospital we soon realized that the pediatrician was just being cautious since he didn't know what was in the vitamins, and that you should be ok. We haven't noticed anything different with you besides you didn't take a nap, and wouldn't eat lunch because you were full of vitamins. You have been really hopped up.

So our prayers are again answered, at least from what we can tell, that you are going to be fine. I guess I probably shouldn't count my chickens, well you know the rest.

Day at the Park

The other day we were all free due to a holiday except Taylor who was in school because she needed to make up some days due to Hurricane Ike. So we took advantage of some time alone with Will and took him to the park. I used this chance to get familiar with my new camera (more on that later) a Canon EOS 5D Mark II.

So we enjoyed our time playing on all the playgrounds as did Will. Sorry that there aren't more to show you, but I am still trying to figure out how to compress the files the right way. It shoots a 21.1 megapixel file which is over 10MB and takes forever to download. So I hope you enjoy the photos!

Kyle P's Big Day

Will's best little buddy Kyle had his 3rd birthday party this past weekend. It was such a great time for the kids and equally fun for the grown ups to just hang out and visit.

Kyle is about 6 months older than Will and Katie (Kyles sister) is I believe about the same amount younger than Taylor. So our kids are really close in age, and we have become great friends. We met the Rude's back in the fall of 2007 when I coached Katie and Taylor's soccer team. Many soccer seasons later (and one TBall) only Katie and one other child played on all of my teams since.

We thank God for putting the Rudes in our lives. They are really great friends that we know we will have for a very long time.

We hope you enjoy the pics!

Emergency Room Visit

Will was fine at soccer practice and also fine going out to eat afterwards with some families on the team. He was even fine at home before going to bed, but soon after going to sleep we knew that something was terribly wrong. He sounded horrible and for those of you who know what croup sounds like you know what I mean. His little voice was completely changed, he couldn't stop coughing, blood vessels were breaking on his face, his nose was running uncontrollably, and it pretty much gave us a good scare. We took him to the emergency room where he received a breathing treatment that seemed to make him feel a bit better and got his pulse oxemetry up. We got him there at 1:30am and he wasn't released until 5:30am. They only had one doctor there on a night shift which was hard for me to believe. So he didn't get much sleep, and neither did we for that matter. I didn't get much as I was there with him, and Carey didn't get much as she stayed up awaiting the news from me while she worried. I was hoping by taking him it would allow Carey to get some sleep, but it didn't tun out that way. He is now on a steroid and small round of antibiotics. He seems to be back to the same fun kid that he has always been.

Poo Poo In Da Paattee

Yes, he finally did it. Will went poo poo and tee tee in the potty for the first time today and the best part was he told me he needed to go before he did it. He probably would have done this sooner had we started putting him on it earlier as we should have. He would have been potty trained by now. But never the less we are still very proud of him and a little sad at the same time as our little man has taken another step in growing up. We wish that he would have stayed a baby forever, but that of course never was meant to be.

We will spare you the pictures this time for all the obvious reasons. We arent a child pornography site nor do we intend to be. But we wanted to share this momentuos occasion with you.

October 7th, 2008 Will went in the potty!!!!

Go Will!

Will Finds a Pen!

Knowing how mischievous little boys can be, it was only a matter of time before Will got into something else. First the Cheerios, then the Hot Tamale's candy, and now this.

He found a pen that was on the table and you can only guess what ensued. At least I found him before he started writing on the furniture and walls.
